Whilst doing my fill in flash photography today I decided to take a break for an hour or so from the set up of using fill in flash and remote shutter and go for a walk and use the camera handheld. I wanted to get used to using my new 100-400 lens (also to be honest I wanted to get warmer as the hide is in the woods in shade and you are just standing still so a walk into the sun would defrost me!!!). I am really happy with the results of this walk and photos as although the birds are not rare and as we know Robins will get closer than most birds to humans I am happy that I am getting good photos from easier subjects than poor photos of hard subjects. Also the Coots and Canada geese being black and white would really test my settings on the camera as these can easily be under or over exposed. I did go back to the hide for another hour before I left the water park to try some more fill in flash and high shutter speeds.

Hi
ReplyDeleteMeets the criteria as listed,
as we discussed you need to now try harder and more skulking species to see how well you get on.

Outdoor bounce house Wow, cool post. I'd like to write like this too - taking time and real hard work to make a great article... but I put things off too much and never seem to get started. Thanks though.
